About Hope Rising Initiative

I was born and raised in Africa, where the simple hope of a good life feels like a distant dream for so many. Opportunities are scarce, and to make something of yourself, you must fight every single day. The battle for survival is relentless, and I have witnessed firsthand the heartbreaking reality of those who never had a chance.

As a child, I saw bright minds and promising futures slip away into the shadows of hardship. Classmates, full of potential, were forced to abandon their education. Some ended up on the streets, their talents wasted, their hopes extinguished not by choice, but by circumstance. I watched as they became lost, unseen, forgotten by a world that didn't offer them a way forward.

Then came the moment that changed everything for me. During my National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), I was posted to Jos North in Plateau State. I lived humbly, doing my part as a youth corps member, but my world was shaken when I discovered my neighbor's children digging through the remnants of my discarded meals. I had noticed that my trash was mysteriously emptied whenever there was food left in it, but I never imagined the heartbreaking truth that these innocent children were relying on my scraps to survive.

That sight shattered me.

From that day forward, I made sure they never went hungry again. I provided food for them until the day I left. But even then, the fire in my heart burned brighter. That moment became my purpose it fueled an unshakable desire to reach out to those who were suffering and offer them hope.

Years later, fate gave me another opportunity my parents immigrated to the USA while I was still in high school. Fourteen years passed before my father was able to bring me over as well, granting me access to education through student loans that allowed me to pursue my master's in public health. And just when I thought my journey had reached its peak, life surprised me again my dedication as a top employee opened another door, leading me to an MBA in Organizational Leadership, fully funded by the company I worked with (T-Mobile).

I thought I had seen struggles. I thought I had witnessed the depths of hardship. But then, in 2022, I moved to Denver. What I saw there shook me to the core. Homelessness was everywhere; an overwhelming wave of despair sprawled across the city streets. People, discarded by society, surviving with nothing no shelter, no certainty, no hope for tomorrow. Every day, I drove through the city with a heavy heart, crying out to God, pleading for a way to help.

These moments my childhood in Africa, the hungry children who inspired my calling, and the homeless souls of Denver became the foundation of my mission. I knew it was time. I reached out to like-minded individuals, and together, we ignited a vision that would change lives.

We focus on the streets the forgotten, the overlooked, the ones who still have hope buried beneath their struggle.

We dream of lifting children off the streets in Africa, ensuring they are empowered with education and skill acquisition. We envision restoring dignity to the homeless in Denver, bringing them food, clothing, and a renewed belief that their lives matter.

Now, after years of building connections and relationships, it sparked the time to act to fight for those who cannot fight for themselves, to be a beacon of hope in the darkness.

This is more than just a dream. This is a movement, a promise, a purpose.
